Spotlight on Rauh-Welt Begriff 911s

Nakai-San and his RWB masterpieces are springing up all over the world. His unique take on classic Porsche 911s is really taking the automotive world by storm.

Here are some videos of his work, shot in Tampa Bay Florida and Bangkok Thailand. They both offer a valuable insight into how he builds his cars and also tailors his approach to customer needs.

For the Bangkok build he was given a brief of needing to provide 13cm of ground clearance without compromising on the low racer stance.

DTM racing in slow motion

Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft in the early 90s was the golden era of touring car racing. Close battles between Audi, BMW, Mercedes and Alfa Romeo were a thing of beauty. They built up the brands and made countless numbers go out and buy their favourite road version of the touring cars they saw fight on the track.

The video below takes footage from the 1993 championship and shows it in ultra slow motion.

GoPro Hero HD budget tracking shot setup

In our latest video we needed to film some very low, steady tracking shots of a selection of historic motorcycles and race cars. We didn’t have the time to buy or setup a track dolly or any other rig before the shoot. As a quick solution we attached the GoPro Hero 3 HD camera to a small radio controlled car. The results of the unique mounting solution are shown in the video below.

Full article about the film location is here. We are now working on a bigger set up using a off road radio controlled car with the aim to take even steadier shots. If you want more information about this rig, please get in touch.

BMW M1 – the forgotten supercar

The BMW M1 Supercar was only produced for 4 years and came close to never reaching production.

The project was financed by BMW so that they could embark on GT class racing worldwide.

Lamborghini were chosen to build the car and the design was by Giorgetto Giugiaro, a great recipe. Unfortunately Lamborghini went into financial meltdown part way through the project so BMW had to seize all the work in progress and finish it themselves.

Despite the problems throughout its development, the car is stunning and a great part of BMW’s history. Mid engined, 3.5 litre straight six with sublime styling make this a timeless car. Owning one of the 399 road cars may prove to be challenging, we can only find one for sale here with a POA attached..

Ferrari Enzo WRC “drive it like you stole it”

The Ferrari Enzo is a very special car that we covered here, most are cocooned in collections and rack up a few hundred miles a year because they are worth around £1m.

This is the reason why the video below is so shocking and brilliant. It takes a tremendous amount of skill to drive a 600bhp hypercar in muddy conditions without bending it.

We’d like to think that the owner of this car does truly uses it as portrayed in the 2 minute clip on a farm in the UK. The video appears to have been shot in Heveningham, Surrey – Google Maps aerial shot of location is here.

It also seems the owner of this vehicle also likes using the rest of their fleet of cars for off road hooning too. Here are some more videos of their antics!

Ferrari F50 Burnout – Having fun in a Formula 1 derived supercar!

Bugatti EB110 SS – Super Sport being driven hard on the limit. Includes a great section with the camera in the engine bay so you can see the throttle bodies and hear the turbos spooling during the drive.

Ferrari 250 GTO Flaming – Short clip of the kind of flames you get on overrun in this supercar icon.

Toyota GT86 TRD upgrade following feedback

Toyota and Subaru’s joint development car, the GT86 and BRZ have received critical acclaim. The lighweight, simple rear wheel drive formula has won fans across the world. At a time when other manufacturers are increasing electronic intervention and technology its refreshing to see a car like this enter the market place. One criticism that the car has received in both guises is the lack of power. The chassis can handle more power, and now Toyota Racing Development (TRD) has stepped out and is now offering the first manufacturer endorsed upgrade for the platform.

In a limited run of just 250 in the UK, the car will become the Halo model for the range. The changes to the car will consist of 18-inch cast TF6 alloys, new quad tail pipe exhaust system (labelled “fast-response”), deeper front valance, rear bumper and side skirts, as well as a rear diffuser that has been shown to increase high speed stability. Other minor changes are TRD branded fuel filler cap, radiator cap and gear shift lever.

The GT86 TRD , on sale from 1 March 2013. Both six-speed manual and automatic versions will be available, in a choice of two colours: Pearl White and GT86 Black. On-the-road prices are £31,495 for the manual and £32,995 for the auto.
