The Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 is one of the biggest supercar success stories of 2012. There is currently a worldwide 18 month waiting list, with some owners paying £45,000 over list price to beat the wait. Second hand Aventadors’ are trading above new prices because production can’t meet the worldwide demand. The standard UK list price is £247,667, but cars advertised at dealers are priced at £285,000 or more. Lamborghini increased annual production to 600 Aventadors after initial production started in 2011. During 2012 Lamborghini sold 922 Aventadors worldwide.
The Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 is the first total rewrite of the flagship V12 Lamborghini since the 1966 Miura. It features an all new V12 engine, carbon fibre monocoque chassis and total rethink of all suspension/transmission components. The Aventador V12 is only the second design produced by Lamborghini since the 3.5 litre V12 that featured in the 1966 Muira and evolved into the V12 that featured in the Countach, Diablo and Murceilago.
