The new Zagato designed Aston Martin

To mark the 50th anniversary of the DB4 GT Zagato, the Italian design house have collaborated with Aston Martin to design this stunning concept car. Whilst the car looks cutting edge, the process behind its design is very traditional. The design house used techniques that were developed in the early part of the 20th Century. Zagato used a wooden block to carve the streamlined shape and a wheel panel bender intended to shape second world war plane panels. The results speak for themselves but the design has also recieved critical acclaim. The concept has been earned the coveted Concorso d’Eleganza Design Award.

The car is based on a Aston Martin V12 Vantage, and houses the 6 litre V12 engine that produces 510hp.

The concept project also included the production of a second model, a racing version which is expected to compete in the 24-hour Nurburgring race later this month.

Whilst there are no plans for production, it is expected that the positive response to this exercise may lead to a limited run of this stunning model next year.
