BMW announced this week that they are launching a new performance sub brand, that will include diesel models. The brand will sit below the full fat M-Cars in terms of outright performance. The aim of M Performance Automobiles (a branch of the M Division) will be to offer customers high performance cars that do not compromise everyday useability in terms of space, practicality and fuel efficiency. Initial models will be a Diesel 5 series and X6 derivative.
To counteract any criticisms, the boss of BMW’s M Division, Dr Friedrich Nitschke, has recorded a video to cover off any concerns M-Car enthusiasts may have.
